Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function following an injury or surgery. It can help relieve pain, prevent future injury or deal with a chronic condition.

Some of the most common conditions treated with physiotherapy are back pain, foot pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, arthritis, osteoporosis, pre/post natal problems, falls, fractures, pre/post surgery rehab.

Physiotherapy uses a holistic approach to treat an individual with exercise, manual therapy and education to promote self- efficacy and participation in their treatment.

manual therapy

A hands on approach to manipulate, mobilise and massage the muscles and joints of the body to treat .

This can help:

  • relieve pain and stiffness

  • improve blood circulation

  • help fluid drain more efficiently from parts of the body

  • improve the movement of different parts of the body

  • promote relaxation

Manual therapy can be used to treat specific problems, such as back pain, but may also be useful for a range of conditions that don't affect the bones, joints or muscles.

prehab/rehab

Prehab (Preventive Rehabilitation) is a proactive method to prevent injuries from occurring/reoccurring. Prehab can also be a useful approach prior to surgery to build up function and improve post- surgery outcomes.

Rehabilitation is for those who have lost their normal everyday function due to injury, trauma, illness or surgery. The aim of rehab is to help return that lost function by setting specific goals depending on the needs of the individual.

Sports massage available

After just one physio session the movement in my arm was considerably improved and it is improving even more thanks to the excellent exercises I was instructed to do at home. Thank you Alex!
