NEW TO PILATES
All classes are physio led
If you’re new to Pilates or starting again after a break, this page walks you through what it is, how we teach it here, and what you can expect at your first session
WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a controlled way of improving strength, mobility and balance. It teaches you how to move well and use your body with more control.
At PhysioFit Studio in Henfield, Pilates is taught on Reformer and Tower equipment, which gives you smooth, controlled resistance so you can build strength steadily and safely in a small-group setting. It’s a good option if you have joint pain, are coming back from injury, or want to support your body for the long term.
As a physio, I teach you the movements clearly and adapt them if something doesn’t suit your body.
Physio-led Pilates is a safe way to build strength, improve how you move and support your overall function, especially if you’re easing back into exercise.
“Change happens through movement and movement heals ”
Why do pilates
Pilates helps you build strength and control in a way that’s steady and manageable. The movements are low-load and focused, so you can work without putting pressure on your joints.
It supports the things you do every day — how you sit, stand, lift and move — by helping you use your body with more awareness and better alignment.
Physio-led Pilates is designed to be adaptable. You can work at a level that suits you and progress gradually as your body allows.
It’s ideal if you’re new to structured exercise, returning after time away, or simply want a more supported way to look after your body.
